Privacy Policy — Playground App.
Version 2.0 · Last updated: October 18, 2026. Applies to iOS and Android.
1. Who is responsible
The Playground app is developed and published on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android) by Marcelo Costa, an individual developer based in Curitiba, PR, Brazil, who is the controller of the personal data processed by the app under Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018).
Privacy contact (data protection officer): contato@unicode.com.br, phone/WhatsApp +55 41 99169-1600.
This policy applies to both the iOS and Android versions of the app. For the website, see the general privacy policy (in Portuguese).
2. Summary for parents and guardians
- Playground is a games app for children.
- The account is created by a responsible adult. We do not ask the child for a name, photo, address or any other personal data.
- The camera and microphone work only on the device: photos and sounds are never sent to any server.
- The app shows no ads, does not track for advertising and does not sell data.
- You can delete the account and all data in the app or by email.
3. Parental consent
Under article 14 of the LGPD (and laws such as COPPA, where applicable), processing children's data requires specific consent from at least one parent or legal guardian. That is why sign-in with Google, Apple or email is done by the responsible adult, who agrees to this policy when creating the account.
Features involving the account, purchases or links outside the app are protected by an adult verification (parental gate).
4. Data we collect
Guardian account. Name (if provided), email address and a user identifier generated by Firebase Authentication. If Sign in with Apple uses "Hide My Email", we only receive Apple's relay address. We never have access to the password.
In-app progress. Usage data needed for the games to work may be linked to the account.
Camera. Used to capture images during play. Photos stay only on the device, are not sent to us or to third parties and are not used to identify the child.
Microphone. Used in the "Animal Sounds" game, so the child can imitate animal sounds. Audio is processed in real time on the device and is never recorded or sent to any server.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics records a technical report: stack trace, device model, operating system, app version and an installation identifier generated by Crashlytics. It does not collect the advertising identifier, location or any personal data of the child, and is used only to fix the problem. The app does not use analytics or advertising tools.
5. How we use it
- Create and secure the guardian's account.
- Make the games work (camera and microphone, on the device only).
- Fix app crashes (Crashlytics reports).
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to guardians' requests.
We do not use data for advertising, behavioral profiling or marketing directed at children.
7. Storage, security and international transfers
Account data and crash reports are stored on Google Firebase servers, which may be located outside Brazil, with the safeguards provided by the LGPD and Google's data protection terms. Communication is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) and each account can access only its own data.
8. How long we keep it
- Account data: while the account exists. After deletion, it is erased within 30 days, including from backups.
- Crashlytics crash reports: up to 90 days.
- Photos and audio: not stored by us.
9. How to delete the account and data
In the app: in the guardian area (protected by the adult verification), tap Delete account. The account and associated data are erased.
By email: email contato@unicode.com.br with the subject "Delete Playground account" from the registered address. We confirm deletion within 30 days.
Photos taken in the app stay on the device and can be deleted from the photo library or by uninstalling the app.
10. Permissions and how to revoke them
- Camera — photo games.
- Microphone — "Animal Sounds" game.
Permissions are optional and can be revoked at any time in iPhone Settings (Settings > Playground) or Android Settings (Apps > Playground > Permissions). Without them, only the related games are unavailable.
11. Guardians' rights
Under the LGPD (and similar laws such as the GDPR and CCPA, where applicable), parents and guardians may at any time and free of charge:
- confirm whether we process your data and access it;
- correct incomplete, inaccurate or outdated data;
- request anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or unlawfully processed data;
- request portability of your data;
- request deletion of data processed based on your consent and withdraw that consent;
- learn with whom we share your data;
- file a complaint with Brazil's National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or your local authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email contato@unicode.com.br. We respond within 15 days.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. The last-updated date is shown at the top of this page. If a change expands the use of children's data, we will ask for the guardian's consent again.
